Impartial Law?

I remember a TV program about 10 poor peoples that became victims of law. Here a similar story from okezone about victims of law that said to be fair and just. The law will always belong to a small number of the wealthy and politically strong people. Let alone the cost of trial that can never be afforded by the penniless people, this poor people usually never have any knowledge about law that make them defenseless against the strong and wealthy. The fact that the law has been used by the wealthy and politically strong people to protect their interest and exploit the weak majority people has been around for almost all the time from the beginning of the first existence of the state(Mesopotamia). Today's modern civilization is no different than the old days. The sophisticated, complex and hard to understand law make the weak vulnerable to any law attack, let alone lobbying any new law to defend themselves.

The partiality of the law is not only happen in Indonesia but in all the countries in the world. The prosecution of Haditha 24 people(unarmed women, children and old man) massacre ended up this week with only one U.S Marine sentenced guilty, not really surprising the punishment of this soldier is only rank reduction without having to serve time in jail. The investigation was conducted and was in the news thanks to the 400 pages of secret interrogations that were discovered. The fact that the decision anger the victims and their families doesn't really matter.
